Hi, everyone! Let’s talk about some seriously tender Busan pork trotters. Good Dayhere!
“What should we have for dinner?” If that daily question has ever left you staring blankly at your options, I know the feeling.
The choice gets even harder after work or on weekends, when you want somewhere clean and comfortable for a genuinely delicious meal with your family or partner. Today, I’m sharing a Busan restaurant worth keeping on your dinner shortlist:Joksimdang, a specialist in jokbal—Korean braised pork trotters—in Seomyeon, Busan, South Korea. If you live nearby, you can order delivery, too!
Seomyeon First Street has been buzzing lately. With everything from a street arts festival to a light festival coming up, there’s even more reason to explore the area.
I walked over from home near Beomnaegol, following Bokgaecheon-ro. Look across from Pascucci and slightly to the right, and you’ll spot Joksimdang’s new sign. It’s on the way to KT&G Sangsangmadang.
We brought our daughter along, and the whole family left impressed. Here’s how our dinner went.

Busan Pork Trotters: Directions & First Impressions
-
Location: You’ll find it on a back street near Seomyeon First Street, heading toward Beomnaegol with KT&G Sangsangmadang behind you. If you know the Pascucci on Bokgaecheon-ro, look across the street and to the right—even I found it easily! Driving? Use the public parking lots on either side of Bokgaecheon-ro.
-
A Clean Space & Thoughtful Service: The clean, modern interior made a great first impression. We were visiting with our young daughter, and the staff kindly brought over a child-size spoon and forkwithout any fuss. Such a thoughtful way to start the meal!

A Beautifully Arranged Spread, Kept Warm on a Mini Burner
-
What a spread! Each table gets a lovely little tabletop burnerthat gently warms the jokbal, so even the very last bite stays warm.
-
Thoughtfully Prepared Side Dishes: Fresh vegetables arrived alongside a neatly arranged selection of banchan, or Korean side dishes. One thing I particularly appreciated: the saeujeot, a salted fermented shrimp condiment, wasn’t overly salty, so it complemented the jokbal without overpowering the pork’s own flavor.
-
A Citrusy Surprise: Yuja Pickled Radish The ssam-mu—thin slices of pickled radish for wrapping the meat—had a light, refreshing hint of yuja citrus. Our daughter loved it, and it was fantastic with the jokbal.

Fresh Korean Pork Trotters & Spicy Baby Octopus Udon: A Winning Pair
Tender, Juicy Premium Jokbal Without Any Funky Pork Smell
Joksimdang says it cooks its jokbal in-house using only 100% Korean-raised, fresh pork trotters delivered daily—never frozen. That might explain why the meat stayed juicy instead of drying out as the meal went on. It was so tender it practically melted in my mouth! After her first bite, our daughter announced, “The jokbal is so soft!” and gave it an enthusiastic thumbs-up.
Spicy Stir-Fried Baby Octopus Udon That Hits the Spot
The jokbal was our daughter’s pick, but this was the dish my wife and I couldn’t resist: jjukumi bokkeum udon, stir-fried baby octopus with udon noodles. The springy octopus and chewy noodles were coated in a sweet-spicy sauce full of smoky, wok-fired flavor. My wife and I polished it off before we knew it! The contrast between the rich, savory jokbal and spicy octopus is something you really should try. You can choose spicy, regular, or non-spicy; we went with regular, and it was just right for us. Neither of us has much of a spice tolerance!
Joksimdang’s Sauce Guide: How to Build Your Perfect Bite
When you visit Joksimdang, take a look at the sauce guideon your table before digging in.
A few different condiments let you take the same piece of jokbal in completely different directions.
-
Fresh Wasabi: Its sharp, refreshing heat cuts through the richness of the chewy, fatty skin.
-
Maldon Salt: This premium British salt has royal credentials. Try a light dip with your first piece to appreciate the pork’s delicate, savory flavor on its own.
-
House-Made Soy Sauce: This special house blend is full of umami without being too salty. Stir in a little mild wasabi, then give the pork a generous dip for a beautifully balanced bite.
-
Whole-Grain Mustard: The little pops of mustard seed and pleasantly sharp flavor work especially well with the tender lean meat, bringing out its subtle savoriness.

A Great Choice for Group Dinners & After-Work Drinks
With a varied menu and a clean, comfortable setting, this is an easy place to settle in over drinks and good food. Its location near Seomyeon First Street makes it a great pick for a get-together with friends or a work dinner in Seomyeon. A friend from Japan is visiting Korea this coming November, and I’m already planning to bring them here to try Korean jokbal made with fresh pork trotters! Delivery orders kept coming in throughout our meal, too, so takeout and delivery seem to be popular. Next time, I’ll have to order it at home.

So, would Joksimdang make your shortlist for Busan pork trotters?
From the generous, neatly arranged spread to the juicy jokbal made daily with 100% fresh Korean pork trotters, everything worked beautifully together. The spicy side dish rounded out the meal perfectly.
If you’re stuck wondering what to eat for dinner, I’d happily point you toward Joksimdang in Seomyeon.Head over for a meal you won’t regret.
